Because it is located close to the final point of the fifty-three stages of the Tokaido, the theme is "Inn" in a post town. The rooms facing the outer perimeter have windows that open as wide as possible, creating a scene where you can sit by the window and look out over the city of Kyoto. In the central room, you can enjoy the scenery where the small and large rooms are adjacent to each other, with a small garden and a courtyard. The materials used in the building are wood and concrete, cloth and tiles, etc., which combine soft and hard, traditional and modern. We also add the sensibility of creators such as landscaping and art, and try to create a space that can be interpreted in a variety of ways. We invite guests from all over the world to experience the "New Kyoto" and enjoy the scenery of each season.
Based on wood, the texture of the traditional house that has been handed down and the novelty of contemporary art respect each other, creating a space with a perfect balance.
